Allergies

allergy treatmentAllergies are a physiological error in which the body reacts negatively to a harmless substance. Allergic reactions occur when the body comes into contact with an allergen. This contact can occur through ingestion, inhalation, injection, or contact.

Generic use of the word “allergy” includes allergies, sensitivities and intolerances.

Allergy, sensitivity and intolerance are used interchangeably to describe any negative reaction occurring from exposure to an otherwise harmless substance. The distinction of a true allergy based on circulating immunoglobulins is generally unknown to the general public.

It is estimated that allergic diseases constitute the most common cause of chronic illness in developed countries.  Prevalence studies have provided evidence of a steady increase in populations suffering from allergies. In fact, it has now been proposed that there is a worldwide epidemic of allergic diseases.

Epidemiological studies have indicated the prevalence of respiratory allergy to be 15-30%. According to the World Health Organization, asthma is now a serious public health problem with over 100 million sufferers worldwide.

Treatment of allergensIt has also been estimated that allergies are affecting an estimated 22% of the world population and could be as high as 45% in some regions.  All around the world, allergies are on the increase and even doubling by some statistics, in the last 25 years. In countries like New Zealand, estimates are showing an increase of 50% just in the last ten years.

The costs of allergic conditions are high. Approximately $20 billion is spent globally each year just on allergic rhinitis, which includes medications, time off work, and physician consultations.
AAE offers a real alternative for people with allergies, treating allergies at the source using a non-invasive, drug-free treatment based on positive conditioning.
